Adoption
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the first step when I inquire about adopting a cat?
When you contact us about adopting a cat, the first thing we do is ask you if you have any specific preferences. This could include details like the color, age, sex, or breed of the cat you’re interested in.
Q: How do you help me choose the right cat?
Once we know more about you and your household, we’ll send you pictures and information about the cats or kittens we believe would be a good fit. We try to match the personalities of our cats with your preferences and family dynamics.
Q: What happens after I decide to keep the cat?
Once you’ve decided to keep your new family member, you’ll need to fill out an adoption agreement. Depending on the cat, there may be an adoption fee, which covers the cost of spay/neuter and vaccines. Please note, no profit is made from these fees; they are used to cover the care of the animals.
Q: What information do you need about my household?
We ask about your household to ensure a good match. This includes whether you have kids, their ages, and if you have other pets at home. This helps us find a cat with a personality that will fit well with your family.
Q: Can I meet the cat before deciding to adopt?
Absolutely! If a cat stands out to you, we invite you to visit our rescue to meet the kitty in person. It’s a great opportunity to see if the cat is the right match for you.
Q: Do you recommend an in-home trial before finalizing the adoption?
Yes, we always recommend an in-home trial before making a final decision. Cats can behave differently at the rescue compared to how they might act in a new home. It may take a few months for everyone to settle in, so we ask for your patience as the cat adjusts.
